This place is located right near Narain Singh Circle at Lal Niwas. It is quite easy to find if you are coming from the main road since we are close to Bhattarath Ji Ki Nashiya. The building has been here for a long time, and you can tell by looking at the stone and the way the stairs feel. We spend most of our days managing the hall and making sure the lights and fans are working like they should. In Jaipur, the summers get really hot, so keeping the place cool is always a bit of a struggle. Usually, there is some kind of gathering going on, or someone is coming in to check the dates. We sit near the entrance most of the time, watching the traffic go by at the circle. It gets loud with all the horns and the buses passing, but inside it’s a bit more quiet. Sometimes the floors need a lot of scrubbing after a big event, especially when there’s been a lot of foot traffic. We have some old chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s not a modern glass building or anything like that, just a regular place where people meet up. We keep the keys in the back office and try to stay on top of the repairs. It is a steady kind of work, day in and day out, right here in the middle of the city.
