If you walk down KGB Ka Rasta in Johari Bazar, you'll find us at number 11. We specialize in gajak, especially when the weather starts to get a bit chilly. It’s a family thing that’s been going on for years. The shop is tucked away in the lane, so it’s not as loud as the main bazaar road. We spend a lot of time crushing sesame seeds and working with jaggery. It’s physical work, and your arms get tired by the end of the day. We don’t have a big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just the shop and the workshop in the back where the magic happens. The smell of roasted sesame is something you never really get tired of. We make small batches because that’s the only way to keep the crunch right. If you come by in the winter, the place is packed with people buying bags to send to their relatives. In the summer, things are a bit quieter, but we stay busy with other small snacks. The walls of the shop have been the same color for ages. We don't see a reason to change things that work. It’s a simple life. We open the shutters in the morning and close them when the street goes quiet. Most of our customers are people who have been coming here since they were kids.
