Elegance Gems is located right in the heart of the old city in Jaipur. Our address is 1181, Sikarwala House, specifically in Heerawaton Ka Chowk along Partanion Ka Rasta in Johari Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Johari Bazar, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always walking around. It’s a very traditional place for the gem trade. We work out of this old building where we spend our time looking at various stones. We don't have a fancy modern storefront. It’s more of a workspace where we sort through gems and talk to other traders in the market. The light in these old buildings isn't always the best, so we use desktop lamps to really see what we are doing. We’ve been part of this market for years. It’s a lot of sitting and examining small things with a loupe. Sometimes the market outside is so loud with motorcycles and shouting that it’s hard to hear anything, but we’re used to it. We deal with a lot of raw and cut stones. It’s a slow process sometimes, finding exactly what someone is looking for. We don’t do much advertising. Most people find us because they’re already in the bazar or they know our family name. It’s just how things work here. We show up, open the shutters, and start the day’s work. There is always something new to see in the stone trade.
