Diwan Foods

Diwan Foods is located over in Pratap Nagar on Kumbha Marg. Our specific spot is number 193/97. It is basically a place where we stock all the daily food items people need for their kitchens. We have bags of flour, lentils, and all sorts of snacks sitting on the shelves. The building isn't new, but it stays cool enough in the summer. We spend a lot of time just moving bags around and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and we have to wait outside on the curb. People from the nearby apartments come in for their monthly groceries or just to grab a packet of biscuits in the evening. It is a straightforward business. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just the name and the stock we have inside. My hands are usually a bit dusty from handling the grain bags all day. The floor gets swept a few times but there is always a bit of grit from the street. We close up when the street lights come on. It is a steady routine. We see the same families growing up, kids who used to come for candy are now buying big bags of rice for their own homes. We just stay here on Kumbha Marg and keep the shop running as best as we can. It is just a regular part of the neighborhood.
