Divine Arts Indian Miniature

Tonk Road is pretty loud usually, but once you get into Durgapura and find our spot at number 30, it gets a little better. Divine Arts Indian Miniature is basically where we spend all our daylight hours. We work with these tiny brushes, the kind that only have a few hairs on them. It takes a lot of patience, and sometimes your eyes get tired after a couple of hours. We’ve got stacks of paper and paints everywhere. It’s not a very tidy place, to be honest. There’s always a bit of dust because of the construction nearby, so we have to keep the art covered up. We’ve been doing this for years, mostly just because it’s what we know. My hands are usually stained with some kind of pigment by the end of the day. We don't have a big showroom or anything, just the workspace where the magic—well, the work—happens. People stop by sometimes to ask about the techniques or just to see what we're painting today. It’s a slow process. You can’t rush a miniature. If you try, you just ruin it. We just sit here, drink some tea, and keep at it until the light fades. It's a quiet way to make a living, even with the traffic hum from the main road. I don't really think about doing anything else now. It’s just what I do every day.
