Creative Arts

Our place, Creative Arts, is situated right on the Jhotwara Industrial Area Main Road. Being on the main road means it stays pretty noisy with all the trucks and rickshaws zooming past the front door. We have been here for a bit, working on various art pieces and projects. The space is usually a mess of materials, brushes, and half-finished work because there is always something going on. It is not a clean or polished gallery by any means. There are paint stains on the floor and the smell of glue or wood sometimes hangs in the air. People from the nearby factories often walk by, and sometimes they pop their heads in to see what we are making. We use a lot of local materials that we get from other shops in the Jhotwara area. The lighting is okay during the day because of the big windows, but it gets a bit dim in the corners when the sun goes down. I spend most of my time at the workbench trying to get things lined up right. It is a lot of manual work and sometimes my hands stay stained for days. We do not have a fancy showroom, just the workshop where the actual making happens. It is a practical space for people who actually like to get their hands dirty and create things from scratch.
