Artist Subhash Chand Sharma

My workspace is tucked away at B-128 130 on Sawai Ram Singh Road. If you know the 4th Cross at Khajnaewalo Ka Rasta, you know it’s a place with a lot of history and craft. I’ve been working as an artist here for a long time. It’s not a quiet studio like you see in movies. There is always noise from the street and people passing by. I spend my hours with brushes, paints, and whatever project is currently on the table. Sometimes I am working on something traditional, other times it is just what a customer asked for. The light in the afternoon is usually the best for seeing the fine details. I don't have a big team or a fancy gallery. It is just me and the work. People often stop by to ask questions or just to watch for a minute. The walls are mostly covered in old sketches and bits of leftover materials. Living and working in this part of town means you are always part of the neighborhood. It can be a bit crowded in the lane, especially when deliveries are happening. I try to keep things organized, but an artist’s room rarely stays clean for long. I just focus on the piece in front of me and try to do an honest job. It is a slow process, but that is how art goes when you do it by hand. I stay until the sun goes down most days.
