Amar Sweets & Namkeen

Amar Sweets & Namkeen is located right on Malviya Nagar Sabzi Mandi Road at 2/411. Being so close to the vegetable market means it is never quiet around here. From the moment the sun comes up, there are trucks moving, people shouting, and the general noise of the bazaar. We fit right into that chaos. Our shop is known for the salty snacks we fry up throughout the day. You can usually hear the sound of the oil bubbling if you stand near the front counter. We have piles of different namkeens in the glass cases, and we try to keep them as fresh as possible for whoever walks in. The floor is usually a bit slippery no matter how much we sweep it, just because of the nature of the work. People stop in while they are doing their grocery shopping to pick up a half-kilo of something to have with their tea. It is a fast-paced environment and we do not have much time for small talk, though we know many of the customers by name. The building itself is old and has its quirks, like a door that sticks in the rain or a light that flickers. We just make do with what we have and keep the snacks coming. It is a hard job with long hours standing on our feet, but this is our life on the Sabzi Mandi road.
