Agarwal Papad Udyog

Agarwal Papad Udyog is right in the heart of Chandpole Bazar, specifically in Deenanathji Gali at number 2281. If you know the area, you know how narrow those lanes are. You can barely fit a scooter through some parts of the gali, but it’s always full of life. Our place smells like lentils and black pepper all day long. We have groups of women who sit together and roll out the papads by hand, which is the way it’s always been done here. It’s a noisy, friendly environment where everyone knows each other's business. We don't have big automated machines; we mostly rely on the sun to dry the papads on the roof. When the clouds come over, everyone has to run up and bring them inside before the rain ruins the whole batch. It’s a lot of work to keep things consistent, but we try our best with what we have. The building itself is quite old, with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. People come by to pick up fresh packets directly from us because they like the way the spices are mixed. We don't do any flashy packaging, just simple plastic bags with a label. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and we don’t see much reason to change it after all these years in the bazar.
