Agarwal Mishthan Bhandar

Tucked away near Ghat Gate, specifically at Loharon Ka Khura, you’ll find our little shop. Agarwal Mishthan Bhandar has been in this part of the old city for a long time. These lanes are narrow and they can get really crowded with people and cycles, but there’s a lot of life here. We don't have the big glass windows or the air conditioning that the new shops have. We just have our counter and the old stools where people can sit if they aren't in a hurry. The walls have years of stories in them, and the ceiling is high and a bit dark. We wake up early to get everything ready before the heat of the day really sets in. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and stirring the sweets by hand. We don't use fancy machines for everything because we like the old way. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles, but we don’t stop. The people around Loharon Ka Khura are like family to us. We’ve seen kids grow up and start their own families right here in these streets. It’s not a fancy business, just a place that belongs to the neighborhood. We don’t do any advertising; people just know where we are by the smell of the frying and the sound of the metal spatulas hitting the pans. It's just what we do every day.
