Agarwal Arts

Our workshop and shop are located at Batwara Bhavan, house number 122, near the Jaipur GPO. It’s an old building, but it has a lot of character and suits what we do here. At Agarwal Arts, we spend most of our time working with different materials, trying to make things that look decent. It's not a big corporate factory, just a few of us working together. The GPO area is always crowded, so there is always a lot of noise coming from the street. We’ve been in this spot for quite a few years now. Sometimes the light in the back room isn't the best, so we move our work closer to the front windows. You’ll see a lot of half-finished pieces lying around if you visit. We don't mind the mess much, it’s part of the process. My father started this and now I handle the daily bits. We make things that people like to put in their homes or give as gifts. It's simple work but it takes time and patience. Sometimes we run out of specific supplies and have to wait for the delivery guy to navigate the narrow lanes around here. The address is pretty straightforward once you get to the main post office area. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Jaipur. We just want to keep making our art and seeing familiar faces come through the door. It’s a quiet life mostly, despite the city noise.
