Madni Restaurant

You can find Madni Restaurant at 25/4 in Chhoti Gwaltoli, which is very close to the Sarvate Bus Stand in Indore. Being near the bus stand means there is never a quiet moment from morning until late at night. People are always running with heavy bags, trying to catch their buses to other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Our restaurant is a small place that caters to those people and the local workers. It’s not fancy at all. We have a few tables and chairs that have been around for a long time and show some wear. The kitchen is right there in the back and you can hear the pots and pans clanging all day long. We start early in the morning because the bus stand never really sleeps and there is always someone looking for a meal. Some of our customers are regulars who work at the nearby shops, while others we only see once and never again. We don't have a big menu with photos or anything polished. We just tell people what is ready to eat. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the daily rush to get to it. It gets really crowded during the lunch hour and the noise from the street comes right inside through the open door. We don't talk about being the best or having a big mission. We just cook the food and serve it. It’s a simple way to make a living and we’ve been doing it this way for many years.
