Spice India

Spice India is located at Sy No 80, Plot No 46, right beside Quba Colony in Bandlaguda. You can usually smell the place before you reach the gate. There’s always a mix of different scents in the air, depending on what we are handling that day. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but the landmark of Quba Colony makes us easier to find. The plot is fairly large, with a big warehouse area where we keep the bags stacked high. We have a small team of people who have been with us since we started. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of chairs and a filing cabinet that sticks when you try to open the bottom drawer. We don't spend much time sitting down anyway. Most of the day is spent checking the stock and making sure everything is where it should be. The floor gets a bit slippery sometimes with the fine dust from the spices. We have a few cats that hang around the plot to keep the mice away. Bandlaguda is growing fast, but our corner remains pretty much the same. We don't use a lot of fancy technology here. A lot of the work is still done by hand and with simple scales. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that’s just how a spice business is. We enjoy the rhythm of the work. Every day feels a bit different based on the stock.
