Padmakshi Silks Private Limited

We are situated on the 5th floor of Sama Tower in Himayath Nagar. Padmakshi Silks Private Limited has been in this building for a good number of years now. The elevator is sometimes a bit moody and makes strange noises, so we tell people to be patient with it. Inside, the space is full of silk sarees and fabric rolls. It’s a lot of colors everywhere you look, which is nice. We don't have a big fancy storefront on the ground floor; we prefer being up here where it is a bit quieter and away from the dust. The staff is mostly busy folding things or talking to retailers who come to pick up stock. Himayath Nagar is a very busy area, so finding a place to park is always a challenge for us and our visitors. We have a small balcony where we take breaks and look out at the Hyderabad traffic. The office is a mix of old wooden counters and metal racks that we’ve had since the start. We spend our time checking the weave of the silk and making sure the zari work looks okay. It’s a bit of a traditional business, so we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way. We don't use much software, just simple lists and handwritten books. It gets a bit hectic during the wedding season, but we manage to stay organized enough to get by. It’s just us working with silk and trying to keep the day running smooth without drama.
