Farah Catering

Farah Catering is run out of Hno 6-7-69 in the C Class area of Bansilalpet. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We use the kitchen space here to prepare food for various local gatherings and small events. It’s not a restaurant where you can sit down, but more of a workspace where the magic happens over big pots and stoves. Bansilalpet is a crowded neighborhood, so getting our delivery van through the narrow lanes can be a real struggle sometimes. We’ve lived and worked in this area for years, so we know everyone around the block. Our days usually start before sunrise, especially if there’s a big order for a lunch event. The smell of spices is always hanging around the house. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different cousins or neighbors helping out when things get really busy. We don't have a fancy website or glossy brochures. Most of our work comes from people who have eaten our food at a wedding or a birthday party and asked for our number. We focus on making enough food so that nobody goes home hungry, which is the most important thing in our culture. The kitchen gets incredibly hot in the summer, but we just keep the exhaust fans running and keep going. It’s hard work, and our hands are always stained with turmeric, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
