Chotus The Food People

Ghansi Bazar is one of those places in Hyderabad that never really stays quiet for long. Our spot, Chotus The Food People, is at 21-6-449/1 right at the X Road and it gets quite dusty with all the vehicles passing by. We are quite close to the Charminar area so there is always a crowd moving around. Being near Rani Sati Mandir means we get people coming in after their prayers. The kitchen gets really warm in the afternoons and we usually have the radio playing low in the back while we work. We do not have any big signs or fancy decorations inside. It is just a shop where we put out food every day for whoever comes by. My cousins and I work the counters and sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when too many people come in at once for lunch. We try to keep the benches clean and the water jugs filled up. You can see the old buildings all around us from the front door. We have been at this Ghansi Bazar-Charminar location for some time now and we know most of the shopkeepers on this street. Some days the delivery trucks block the road and it makes things a bit slow but that is just how it is in this part of the city. We just focus on getting the cooking done and making sure the plates are ready for the customers. It is a simple life and we are just here every day.
