Our business is located right in the heart of the old city in Hyderabad. The address is 21-1-460 in Rikab Gunj, which is very close to the Charminar area. If you know that part of town, you know it is incredibly crowded and the streets are very narrow. Charvi Tex Prints India is what we are called. We deal with printed textiles, so our shop is always full of bright colors and different patterns. The smell of the prints is something you get used to after a while. It is a very old building, and the shop space is quite tight because we have so much stock crammed into every corner. We spend a lot of time helping people find exactly the right print they are looking for among the hundreds of rolls we have. The noise from the street is constant—horns honking, people shouting, and the general bustle of the market. It can be exhausting sometimes, but it is also very lively. We have been here in Rikab Gunj for a long time, and we know all the other shopkeepers on the street. We usually start the day with a cup of tea from the vendor next door. There is no air conditioning, just a few old ceiling fans that struggle to keep the place cool in the summer. It is a real, hardworking part of the city.
