Sharada Modern High School

Sharada Modern High School has been part of the Howrah community for a long time now. We are located in the 711227 postal area, which is a busy residential part of the city. The school is an old building with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the streets of Howrah. Inside, the floors are made of old stone, and the classrooms are filled with rows of heavy wooden benches. We have a small staff room where we keep our bags and have our tea during the intervals. The walls are lined with a few old maps and some student artwork from previous years. There is not much in the way of high-tech equipment here, as we mostly rely on books, chalk, and the teachers' voices to get the lessons across. The school gate is right on a narrow street, so it gets very crowded when the classes let out for the day. We know most of the families around here because their older children or even the parents themselves went to school in this very same building. It is a simple, hardworking environment where we do our best with what we have and keep the focus on the students' daily work.
