Gulistan Model School

Gulistan Model School is located at 25/1, Danish Molla Lane in Howrah. We are tucked away in a bit of a narrow lane, but that’s just how this part of the city is. It can be a bit tricky for cars to get down here, so most people walk or use rickshaws. We have a modest building that houses all our classrooms. It isn't a huge school, but we make the most of the space we have. The walls are covered with student work and some old charts that have been there for years. We like it that way because it feels lived in. The kids come from the local neighborhood in Howrah, and we know many of their families personally. We don't have a big fancy office; usually, the principal is just sitting at a desk near the entrance. We teach all the standard subjects and try to make sure the kids stay focused on their lessons. During the rainy season, Danish Molla Lane can get a bit muddy, but the children always manage to make it to class. We have a small area where they can play, though it’s mostly just a concrete courtyard. It’s a simple operation run by people who care about the local kids getting a decent start. We don't use big words or make grand promises. We just open the doors every morning and get to work.
