Om Marble

You can find Om Marble right along Podrah Andul Road. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks passing by, which brings in a fair amount of dust. We spend a good part of our morning just hosing down the marble slabs so people can actually see the patterns and colors. Marble is heavy, so we have to be careful when we are moving it around the yard. We’ve had a few close calls with pieces nearly tipping, but we know how to handle the stone by now. Our setup is pretty basic. We have the slabs leaning against the frames and a small shed where we keep the invoices and take our tea breaks. People driving by often stop when they see something they like from the road. We don't do much advertising because the stone usually speaks for itself. It’s a tough business on your back and your hands, but it’s honest work. We have different types of marble coming in from time to time, so the inventory changes. Some days are slow and we just sit by the road watching the traffic, and other days everyone wants their stone cut at the same time. We just take it as it comes. Being on Andul Road means we are easy to find, even if the traffic is a mess sometimes. It’s just us here, working with the stone every day.
