Nahar Marble & Tiles

If you head over to 4, Ahamed Mamooji Street in Liluah, you will find us at Nahar Marble & Tiles. The place is usually covered in a thin layer of white dust because of all the stone we move around. We have stacks of tiles and big slabs of marble leaning against the walls. It’s heavy work, and our backs often feel it by the end of the day. Liluah is a busy industrial kind of area, so there are always trucks passing by outside. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. It’s more like a warehouse where you can see the actual materials. Sometimes the edges of the tiles are a bit rough until they get cut, but that’s just how it is. People come in looking for something specific for their floors or bathrooms. We show them what we have in stock. If we don’t have it, we check the back. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers lifting and loading. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend our breaks. It gets hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we’re used to it. We’ve been at this Ahamed Mamooji Street location for years. We know the other shop owners and the regulars. It’s an honest way to make a living, dealing with stones that will probably outlast all of us. No big sales talk here, just the products and the weight of the slabs.
