Maa Shitla Marble Emporium

You can find us at 128, G. T Road in Salkia, right by the Chourasta. It is an incredibly busy intersection. The noise from the trucks and the honking never really stops from morning until night. Maa Shitla Marble Emporium is tucked right into that chaos. We have a lot of marble pieces crammed into the space we have. Because we are right on the main road, everything gets covered in a thin layer of road dust pretty quickly. I feel like I spend half my life with a duster in my hand trying to keep the statues looking clean. It’s not a fancy place at all. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy moving heavy slabs around to worry about that. Salkia is a tough neighborhood but it's where we work. We see all kinds of people passing through the Chourasta. Sometimes a truck driver will stop and stare at the marble work while he’s stuck in traffic. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the stone without breaking it. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting. By the end of the day, my boots are usually white from the marble dust. It’s just how it is working on G.T Road. It's loud and messy, but it's the spot where we have our shop and we make it work.
