Delhi Public School

Our school is located on Amta Road in Domjur, which is a pretty busy part of Howrah. If you know this area, you know how the traffic can get. The buses and trucks go past all day long. We have a big gate that helps keep some of the noise out, but you can still hear the horns. The building is quite large and has several floors. I spend a lot of my time walking up and down those stairs. The playground is okay, but we have to keep an eye on the kids because they get very energetic when they finally get out of the classrooms. The teachers' room is where most of us sit during our breaks, usually complaining about the humidity or the amount of homework we have to check. We have many rooms and each one has a different feel depending on which grade is inside. The younger ones are always louder. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many students, there’s always a stray pencil or a bit of paper on the floor. It’s just a normal school day here. We don’t do anything too special, just follow the schedule and try to finish the lessons on time. Sometimes the fans stop working and we all get a bit grumpy until they are fixed. In the evening, the road outside gets even busier with people heading home. We close up the gates and do it all again tomorrow.
