Ar Rubber Industries

Down in Vill- Paramananda Chak, in the Santoshpur area, you’ll find Ar Rubber Industries. We’re located in the Bauria police station jurisdiction, part of the Uluberia-II block. It’s a bit of a journey to get out here if you’re coming from the city, but it’s where we have the space to do our work. Being in a village area means it’s a lot quieter than the urban centers, though our factory makes enough noise to balance that out. We’ve got a bunch of local guys working here, and we all know each other pretty well. We make various rubber items that get sent out to different parts of the region. The floor is usually covered in dust and bits of material, and we have stacks of raw rubber waiting to be processed. It’s not a glamorous job, and we definitely don’t have air conditioning, so it gets pretty warm in the afternoons. We focus on getting the shapes right and making sure the batches are consistent. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which gives us a chance to sit outside and chat for a bit. We don’t really do marketing; people mostly find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been buying from us for years. It’s a practical, hardworking environment where we just focus on the task at hand and try to keep our local workforce busy and the machines running as smoothly as possible.
