Shrisant Namdev Maharaj Farmers Producer is our little group here in Kharbi. Our main point of contact is House Number 14. We are located in the Hingoli district. It’s a quiet village, and most people here are involved in agriculture in one way or another. We named the company after the saint because it felt right for our community. We have a few members who all contribute what they grow. It’s mostly about getting our crops together so we can sell them in larger batches. This helps us get a bit more for our hard work. The house at number 14 is where we gather to talk about the seeds for next year or the problems we’re having with the soil. It’s not an office in the way city people think of it. It’s more of a community hub. We’ve had some tough years with the weather, but we keep going. There’s a lot of manual labor involved, and we don't have much in the way of big machinery. We do things the old-fashioned way for the most part. Everyone helps out during the sowing and the harvest. It’s a tight-knit group. We started this producer company because we wanted to have a bit more control over our own lives. We aren't looking to get rich, just to make sure we can keep farming for another generation. Most days are long and tiring, but we’re used to it. We keep our heads down and work. It is what it is.
