Dattaguru Farmer Producer Companylimited is based right out of House Number 31 in the village of Pangra Shinde. If you are familiar with the Basmath area, you know it is a place where everyone is connected to farming in one way or another. We are just a few local people who decided to pool our resources together. It is easier to deal with the markets when you aren't doing it all by yourself. The house where we meet isn't a business building; it’s a home that doubles as our office when we need to sign papers or count out some money. We don't have any staff in suits or expensive computers. Mostly, we just have notebooks and a lot of patience. The village life is slow, but the work in the fields is fast-paced during harvest. We focus on what is happening right here in our own backyard. Sometimes the rain is too much, and sometimes it is not enough, but we just keep going. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. Our only goal is to make sure we can keep our families fed and our farms running for another year. People around here know us as their neighbors before they know us as a company. That is just how things work in Pangra Shinde. It is practical, honest work that doesn't need much explaining to anyone who lives around these parts. It’s just how we live.
