Marathwada Krushimitra Farmer Producer Company Limited

You can find us at House No. 564 in Hol. That is where Marathwada Krushimitra is based. It’s a small village setup. We are just a bunch of local farmers who thought it would be a good idea to start a producer company to help each other out with the daily grind. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It is just a room where we keep our files and meet up once in a while to discuss the crops. Farming in the Marathwada region has its own set of challenges, mostly with the water situation and the heat. We spend a lot of time talking about how to manage those things together. Being in a group makes it a bit easier to buy things like fertilizer or seeds in bulk, which saves us some money. We aren't professional managers, just people who have spent our whole lives on the land. House No. 564 is where the paperwork happens, but the real work is always out in the fields of Hol. We keep things pretty informal. There’s no dress code or fancy meetings. We just sit down and talk about what needs to be done for the next harvest season. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes we wonder if it’s worth all the hassle, but we keep at it. We are just trying to make a decent life for ourselves through farming. That’s the long and short of it.
