We are located at House Number 2 in Balegaon, which is in the Basmath area. Our name, Krushimitra Baliraja Farmer Producercompany Limited, is a bit of a mouthful, but people around here just know us for what we do. The office is right in the village, so we see our neighbors every single day. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big marketing budget. Most of our work involves sitting down with the local farmers and figuring out how to handle the crops better. Basmath is a good place to be if you care about the land. We spend a lot of time on the porch or inside the main room of House No. 2, just talking. Sometimes the rains are late and everyone is worried, so the office becomes a place where people vent their frustrations. Other times, when the harvest is good, it’s a much happier place to be. We handle the administrative side of things, making sure the producer company stays on track. It’s a lot of manual entry and talking on the phone to suppliers or government offices. We don’t really have "office hours" in the way city people do; if someone knocks on the door with a problem, we usually try to help them out right then and there. It's just a simple, local business trying to make things work for the folks living here in Balegaon.
