Our group, Kai Nivrutti Shelke Patil Farmer Producer Company Limited, is located in Pota Kh, which is part of the Aundha tehsil in Hingoli district. We run things from Sahebrao N Shelke’s place. It’s a local operation, nothing more, nothing less. Most of the folks involved are just farmers from this part of Maharashtra who have known each other for years. We grew up together, and now we are trying to run a business together. It’s not always smooth. There’s a lot of debate about which seeds are best or when to sell the harvest. Hingoli is a place where you have to work hard to get a good yield. We don't have a big marketing budget or some fancy office in the city. We just have Sahebrao’s house and a lot of determination. We named the company after Kai Nivrutti Shelke Patil to show respect for the roots we have here. Every day is a bit different. One day we are talking to the bank, and the next we are out in the mud checking the irrigation. We try to keep our paperwork in order, but the real work happens in the fields. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or polished websites. We just want to make sure the families in Pota Kh can keep farming for a long time. It’s about sticking together and making the most of what we have in this corner of the world. We just take it one season at a time and see how it goes.
