V-Steel

Our business, V-Steel, is at Plot No- 372 Fco in Sector 32 B. We are right near the Nirman Theatre, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. Dealing with steel is heavy work. We have large stacks of beams and plates that take up most of the yard. The sound of metal hitting metal is something you get used to after a few days. We don't have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a small cabin where we keep the invoices and a phone. Sector 32 B is a busy part of the city, and having the theatre nearby means there are always people around, especially in the evenings. We start work pretty early to beat the heat, as the sun reflects off the steel and makes the yard very hot. We have a couple of guys who help with the loading and unloading of the trucks. It’s a physical job and you have to be careful. Sometimes a delivery is late because of the traffic near the theatre, but we just manage it. The gate is usually open all day so trucks can get in and out. We don’t do any big marketing. Most of our customers are builders or people who need steel for their own projects. We’ve been at this plot for several years. It’s a simple operation where we just focus on moving the steel and making sure the counts are right.
