About India Metal Craft – Metals & Minerals in Gurugram
We work out of No. 26 in Sector 17-A, a place we’ve called home for India Metal Craft for quite some time now. If you walked by, you’d hear the clanging of metal and the hiss of the torches. It’s a noisy environment, but you get used to it after the first week. We aren't artists in the way people usually think, we just work with our hands to make things out of metal that people actually need. The floor is usually covered in filings and small scraps, no matter how much we sweep. In Sector 17-A, there are plenty of other shops, so there is a lot of activity throughout the day. Our work is dirty and physically demanding, and by the evening, we are usually pretty tired. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. If you want to see what we do, you just come into the shop and look at what’s on the bench. We use old tools that have lasted us years because they still work better than the new stuff. It’s a simple life, focused on the raw material and what it can become. We don’t talk much while we work because of the noise, but we know what needs to be done. It’s about being practical and making sure the joints are strong and the edges aren't too rough. That’s just how we operate every day. No big speeches, just metal and hard work at the bench.
