Uttam Steels

Uttam Steels is located in Sector-3, at Plot No. 25 in the Nhar Singh Colony. We’re quite easy to find since we are right near the HP Petrol Pump. It’s a good landmark for people who aren't familiar with the colony. Our yard is where we keep all the steel stock, and it’s usually quite a sight with all the different shapes and sizes of metal piled up. The area around the petrol pump is always busy, so there’s a constant stream of traffic passing by our gate. We mostly supply to local builders and small contractors who are working on projects nearby. The office is just a simple room where we keep our records and meet with people who come in. It’s nothing fancy, just some plastic chairs and a wooden table. We spend a lot of time outside in the yard, especially when a new load of steel arrives and needs to be sorted. The weather in this part of town can be quite harsh, either very hot or quite dusty, so we try to get the heavy work done before the midday sun hits. We’ve been operating here for a while and most of the regulars know us by name. It’s a straightforward business without any bells or whistles. We just focus on having enough stock on hand and making sure the measurements are right when someone buys a piece of steel. It is a lot of physical work, but we are used to it.
