Tushar Scrap

Out here at A-52 in Chakkarpur, things stay pretty busy most mornings. We go by Tushar Scrap, and if you walk past Phase I, you will probably see the piles of metal and old parts we have gathered. It’s not the cleanest line of work, but someone has to do it. We get all sorts of things coming through the gates. Old iron pipes, copper wiring from houses being renovated, and sometimes just random bits of machinery that nobody wants anymore. The yard gets crowded quickly, so we are always moving things around to make space for the next load. DLF City has changed a lot over the years with all the new buildings going up, which means there is always more scrap to sort through. It is mostly just us working here, dragging stuff back and forth and making sure everything is weighed correctly. We have a heavy scale that gets a lot of use. On hot days, the sun reflects off the metal and it gets quite warm in the yard. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just come in, show us what you brought, and we figure it out from there. It's noisy sometimes when we are loading the trucks, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work right here at our spot near the main road.
