Our shop is over in Sector 51. If you've walked by, you probably smelled the bread baking. We start that pretty early in the morning so it's ready for the lunch crowd. It's not a very big place, just a long counter and a few tables along the wall. We spend most of our shift standing behind the glass, asking people what kind of cheese or veggies they want. It gets pretty busy around noon when the office workers from the nearby buildings come in all at once. We try to move fast, but sometimes the line goes out the door. The floor gets a bit sticky by the end of the shift, no matter how many times we mop it. We have a regular delivery schedule for the vegetables, so we’re often chopping onions or slicing tomatoes in the back. Sometimes the toaster oven acts up and we have to reset it. It’s just a standard sandwich shop. We don’t do anything fancy with the decor, just the usual green and yellow signs. Most people just grab their food and head back to their desks or homes. We see the same faces every Tuesday and Thursday, which is nice. We have to keep an eye on the soda machine because the ice dispenser jams sometimes. The trash can outside needs to be emptied twice a day because it fills up with wrappers. The metal chairs make a loud scraping noise on the floor. It is just a simple place to get a meal without waiting too long.
