Sachin Steel

Our place is right off Nh-8 in Rajiv Colony. Being at 53/36 means we see a lot of trucks passing by all day long. Sachin Steel isn't a very big operation, just a handful of us making sure the metal gets where it needs to go. We deal with a lot of local builders and people just doing small repairs on their own homes. The yard is usually full of pipes and bars, and sometimes it's a bit of a mess if we haven't had time to stack things properly after a big delivery. We use an old desk for all our paperwork, and the computer is a bit slow, but it gets the job done eventually. Some days it’s just the sound of metal clanging together and the radio playing in the background. We don’t really do any fancy advertising or have a big sign with flashing lights. Most people just know we're here because they saw the stacks from the highway while driving past. The dust from the road gets everywhere, so we’re always wiping things down, though it doesn’t help much. We've been in Rajiv Colony for a bit now and we know the neighbors pretty well. If someone needs a piece of steel cut to a specific length, we pull out the saw and get to it. It’s simple work, really. We just focus on keeping enough stock so we don't have to turn anyone away when they drive in off the main road.
