Mahima Scrap Store

We are located over in Wazirabad, right in the Dhani Market area. It is a busy spot and there is always something going on outside our gate. Our days are mostly spent sorting through piles of old metal, plastic bottles, and stacks of newspapers that people bring in on their rickshaws. The yard gets pretty dusty, especially when the wind picks up, but that is just part of the scrap business. We have a big scale for weighing everything, and we spend a lot of time checking the weights to make sure things are right for everyone. Sometimes people bring in old appliances or copper wiring from construction sites nearby. It is hard work and our hands are usually dirty by the end of the shift. The neighborhood is full of small shops, so we see the same faces every day. We have a small cabin where we keep the books and sit down for a glass of water when it gets too hot. It is not a fancy setup, just a practical one for moving junk around and getting it ready to go. We try to keep the piles from getting too messy, but when a big load comes in, it takes over the whole space for a while. Usually, we are here from early morning until the sun goes down, just keeping the cycle of old materials moving along in the market. It is a simple life of hard work.
