Kailash Food Point

Kailash Food Point is tucked away in the Gurgaon Village area of DLF Phase 3, specifically at U 54/21. If you’ve ever been to U-Block, you know how tight the streets are and how many people live in every building. Our shop is small, and we mostly do things for people to take back to their rooms. I spend my whole shift standing in front of the stove, flipping parathas or stirring the dal. It gets really hot in there, especially when we have three burners going at once. We don't have much space for storage, so we have to get fresh supplies almost every single day. The delivery boys are always running in and out, shouting their order numbers and looking for their bags. It can be a bit chaotic during the dinner rush. I’ve lived in this part of Gurgaon for five years, so I know how the power cuts work and how the water supply goes. We just deal with it and keep the food moving. Sometimes a customer gets impatient because it takes a few minutes, but you can’t rush good cooking. I use a lot of oil and spices, so the floor gets a bit slippery if we don't scrub it down every night. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s honest work. We feed a lot of people who are far away from home.
