B2 Food Point

This little spot on Palam Vihar Road 4 has been my second home for a long time now. B2 Food Point is what we call it, though most people just know us as the place by the corner. We start early in the morning, getting the stove lit and the big pots ready. Palam Vihar is a busy area, so there’s always someone walking by who needs a snack or a hot drink. The road gets quite loud with all the cars and buses passing, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have a few plastic tables that we put out, but they’re usually a bit wobbly because the ground isn't perfectly flat. I spend a lot of my time washing dishes or cutting up onions and green chilies. My eyes sting halfway through the morning every single day. It’s hard work, standing on your feet for ten hours, but it’s what we do. We don’t have a big menu with lots of options. We just make what we know how to make well. Sometimes the regulars come by and complain about the traffic, and I just nod and keep cooking. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we try to stay in the shade as much as we can. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big restaurants in the malls. We just serve the people who live around here.
