Anish Scrap Merchant

If you head down Mata Road and turn into Sheetla Colony, you’ll find us in Gali No-7. We’ve been running Anish Scrap Merchant out of this spot in Gurgaon Village for quite a while now. It’s a narrow street, and things can get a bit tight when we have a lot of scrap coming in. We take all sorts of things, from old metal bits to stuff people don’t want anymore. It’s a messy business, but someone has to do it. The yard is usually full of piles of copper, iron, and some plastic that needs sorting. My kids sometimes help out when they aren't in school, though they mostly just get in the way. The neighbors know us well, even if the trucks making noise early in the morning can be a bit much sometimes. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know where Gali No-7 is and they bring their stuff over. Sometimes we go out with the cart to pick things up from the surrounding houses. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is out, but we’ve made a life here. There is always something interesting in the scrap pile if you look hard enough. We just weigh it, pay for it, and move it along to the bigger processors later on. It keeps the place from getting too cluttered if we move the stock out every few days. We just focus on the day-to-day work and keeping the scale accurate for everyone.
