We run Sk Bus Services Pvt. Ltd. from Plot No. 8 in Lane No. 2 of Dhram Colony. It’s a humble spot, mostly just a bit of land and a small office where we keep the keys and the logbooks. The colony is a bit tucked away, and the roads aren't the best, especially after it rains. You can usually hear the engines warming up early in the morning before most people are even awake. There’s always the smell of diesel and oil around the yard, which you just get used to after a week. Our office is a bit cramped with all the paperwork and the tea cups lying around, but it’s where we coordinate the drivers and the routes. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and checking the time. We don’t have any big fancy uniforms, just regular clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. Sometimes a bus breaks down and everyone has to pitch in to figure out a solution. It’s a bit of a juggle making sure every vehicle is where it should be. The neighborhood is mostly quiet besides our buses. We’ve been here long enough that everyone knows us. We don't have any big goals other than making sure the buses run on time and everyone gets where they need to go. It’s a simple, busy life in Lane No. 2, and we like it that way.
