Apollo Taxi Service

Apollo Taxi Service is run from 2 Sector 5 on Sheetla Mata Road, right near the Sheetla Mata Mandir. It is a hectic area because of all the pilgrims and the traffic going toward the temple. We have a small office where the drivers sit and wait for their next call. There is usually a pot of tea going and a lot of talk about which roads are blocked or where the construction is happening today. I spend a lot of my time on the phone, trying to coordinate where everyone is. It is not a high-tech dispatch center, just a desk with a couple of mobile phones and a notebook where I scribble down the bookings. Sometimes a driver gets stuck in a jam and I have to call the customer and explain, which is not always fun. People around here know us because we have been parked on this road for ages. The cars are clean enough, but they work hard and the city roads are pretty rough on them. I do not go in for flashy slogans or big promises. We just try to show up when we say we will. It is a tough business with the fuel prices always changing, but we manage to keep the wheels turning. If you are ever near the Mandir and need a ride, you will probably see our guys standing around talking. That is just the daily life for us here in Sector 5. It's a lot of work but it keeps us going.
