Mehars Restaurant

You can find us on the first floor of Mehars Hotel here in Pathankot. We’re quite close to the Pathankot Cantt Station, specifically the Chakki Bank side. It’s a handy location for people coming off the trains or waiting for their next ride. We’ve been running the restaurant for some time now. It’s a basic setup, nothing too fancy. We just focus on getting the food cooked and served to the guests who stay in the hotel or walk in from the street. Being near the station means we see a lot of different faces every day. Some people are in a big hurry to catch a train, so we try to get things out quickly. Others have a bit more time to kill and just sit there with their bags. The staff here is just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We handle everything from the cooking to the cleaning up afterwards. It's a lot of stairs to climb sometimes, being on the first floor, but it gives a bit of a view of the street below. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just open up in the morning and stay busy until the last train travelers have had their fill. It’s a practical place for a meal when you’re traveling through Pathankot. We just keep it simple and keep going.
