Annapurna A Vegetarian Restaurant is right there at the Civil Lines Chowk in Gurdaspur. Being at a chowk means there is always something going on outside our windows. We have been at this 143521 location for a good while, watching the town change around us. It is a simple vegetarian spot, nothing too complicated. Most people in Gurdaspur know the Civil Lines area pretty well because it is a central part of their daily commute. We open up the shutters in the morning and start the prep work while the first few cycles and cars begin to pass by. The air is often a bit dusty from the road, but we keep the inside as tidy as we can. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. It is just about making food for the people who are passing through the chowk or working nearby. We have a few regular tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. On hot days, the fan overhead is always running at full speed to keep the air moving. People come in, eat their meal, and then go back to their business. It is a very practical kind of place. We don't try to be anything we are not. Being a part of the Gurdaspur community at Civil Lines Chowk is just how it has always been for us, and we are fine with that.
