Dogra Punjabi Dhaba

Our place, Dogra Punjabi Dhaba, is located right by Bridge No. 5 in Sujanpur, Pathankot. Being near the bridge means we see a lot of travelers coming through. Pathankot is a gateway to the hills, so there’s always someone on a journey stopping by. The dhaba is pretty basic. We have an outdoor seating area that’s nice when the breeze comes off the road, but it can get dusty too. We cook the way we learned at home. There’s no head chef with a tall hat, just people who know how to handle a tandoor. The tea is always hot and we make it strong. Sometimes the trucks park up outside and the drivers stay for a long chat. It’s a lively spot in that way. We don't bother with fancy plating or expensive napkins. It’s just steel plates and spoons. The building itself is old, and we’ve had to patch up the walls a few times. Sujanpur is a quiet enough town, but the highway keeps us busy. We take pride in just being a reliable stop for anyone who is tired of driving. We start early in the morning when the air is still cool and keep going until late. It's a simple life, and we like it that way. If the weather is bad, we just pull the covers down and keep the fire going inside. It’s been this way for a long time now.
