Khalsa Hindu Dhaba

If you walk out of the Pathankot Railway Station, you just have to look across the street to find us. We’ve been on Railway Road for a long time now. Being right opposite the station means we get all kinds of travelers. Some are in a huge rush to catch their train and others are just arriving and looking for their first meal in town. We keep things simple here. The menu is written on a board and it doesn't change much. We cook what we know people like. It’s a busy little place and sometimes you have to share a table with a stranger, but that’s just how it is. The kitchen is small but we work fast to make sure nobody misses their departure. My father started this dhaba and he always said that a hungry traveler is a person you should treat well. We aren't a big restaurant with waiters in uniforms. It’s just us in our regular clothes serving up plates of hot food. The station whistle is our clock. When it blows, we know a new crowd is coming across the road soon. We stay open late into the night until the last major train passes through. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we do here in 145001. We hope the food makes the journey a bit easier.
