Amba Ji Granites & Marbles

Over here in Sector 9, at I-22, things stay pretty dusty most of the time. That is just how it is when you work with stones like granite and marble all day. We have stacks of slabs leaning against the walls, and they are quite heavy, so moving them takes a lot of effort. People come by when they are building a new kitchen or fixing up their floors. They walk around the yard looking at the different patterns and colors in the rock. We do a lot of measuring and sometimes we have to cut the pieces to fit whatever the customer needs. It’s loud when the saws are running, and we usually have water spraying to keep the dust down. It is hard physical work, and our hands are always rough from handling the material. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning; it’s more of a working yard where things get done. We load the tempos and trucks for deliveries across the neighborhood. Sometimes a slab has a crack we didn't see, and we have to set it aside. We’ve been in this part of Sector 9 for a good bit now. Most folks find us just by driving through the industrial stretch. It’s just us and the stone slabs, working from morning until the sun goes down. We just keep moving the heavy stuff.
