You can find us over at the Central Gurudwara in Village 19Z, which is in the Sri Ganganagar district. Our work is handled by Malkeet Singh and a few others from the local community. Being based near the Gurudwara makes it easy for everyone to stop by and talk about the farming business. We are a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. Sri Ganganagar is a big agricultural area, and we deal with a lot of the crops that grow around here, like cotton and wheat. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our records and have our meetings. It is not a corporate environment at all. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or at the local mandi, checking on prices and making sure our members are getting a fair shake. The weather here can be really tough, with freezing winters and very hot summers, but the work has to be done. We try to help the smaller farmers in our village get access to better seeds and help them sell their harvests in bulk. It is mostly about looking out for each other and making sure the farming life stays sustainable. We don't have any flashy marketing; we just do the work and try to keep things moving forward for the people in Village 19Z. It’s a very practical way to manage things in this part of Rajasthan.
