Rishi-Angira Kisan Producer Company Limited is located in the Baran district, specifically at Hemraj’s place in Barana. Hemraj is the son of Prahlad Kumar Meena. We are just a group of farmers from this local area who decided to work as one unit. Farming in Baran can be okay if the monsoon is good, but it’s always a gamble. We started this company to take some of that gamble out by sharing our tools and our knowledge. We don't have any big-city ideas. We just want to do right by our neighbors and our own fields. The office is just a room where we keep our records and meet up when the sun goes down. We talk about the soy or the wheat, whatever is in season. There is no polish here, just a lot of talk about fertilizer prices and transport costs. Sometimes the government paperwork is a headache, but we help each other through it. We are simple people. We don't need a lot of marketing or slogans. If the crop is good, we are happy. If it’s not, we figure out how to survive until the next one. That’s the reality of life here in Barana. We are just trying to make the most of what we have on our small plots of land.
