Shri Vardayini High School

Our school is in Rupal, which is a fairly quiet spot in the Gandhinagar area. Shri Vardayini High School has been serving this community for many years now. We are tucked away in the 382630 area code. It has a bit of a village vibe even though we are technically in the district of the state capital. The classrooms get a lot of natural sunlight and there is usually a good breeze during the hotter months. Most of the students come from families that have lived in Rupal for generations. Teaching here means being a part of the local life. We do not have any flashy gadgets or high-tech equipment. We mostly use chalkboards and some old maps that have been hanging on the walls for a long time. It works well enough for us. The teachers often walk to the school or take a short bus ride from the next town over. We see the same faces every morning at the small tea stalls nearby. Life moves at a slower pace here compared to the big city. When the monsoons arrive, the ground outside gets a bit muddy, but we just carry on with our work. We are not trying to be the most famous school in Gujarat. Our goal is just to make sure the kids get through their high school years. It involves a lot of grading papers and watching the clock until the final bell rings.
