Chharodiya Primary School

Our little primary school is located in Chharodi, on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. It is a simple place where the local kids come to get their first bit of schooling. The building isn't anything to write home about, just some plain rooms with benches and boards. But it serves the village well. Every morning you can hear the kids reciting their lessons from the road. We have a small open area where they play during the breaks, and it usually gets pretty dusty when they start running around. Most of the teachers live nearby and have been working here for a long time. We know almost every family in the village by name. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have computers or high-tech stuff in every room, but we make sure the basics are covered well. The roof sometimes leaks a little when the monsoon is really heavy, but we just move the desks and keep going. That’s life in a village school. We focus on teaching them to read, write, and do their sums. It’s a quiet life here in the 382170 area, away from the big city rush of Ahmedabad. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures. If you want to know about us, you just come by and talk to the headmaster. It’s a practical place for the kids to start their journey. We have a few trees for shade where parents wait.
